Just picked up Bob Logan and Neil Cole’s Beyond Church Planting: Pathways for Emerging Churches. Thought it might be a new edition of Logan and Ogne’s classic, the Church Planter’s Toolkit. Instead Bob and Neil have produced a resource pitched at planters in the emerging church stream.

The authors believe authentic kingdom ministry flows out of who God is … who we are … how we relate to each other … and how we fulfill God’s purpose for his people.

The kit includes a 183 page notebook, audio CD’s and powerpoint presentations on CD.

Bob Logan has been producing great resources for church planting for as long as I can remember and Neil Cole is a top practitioner in church planting through multiplying groups.

If you are a church planter make sure of two other essentials:
1. An objective assessment of your ability and readiness as a church planter.
2. An empowering coach.

There are no guarantees in church planting. But you can improve the odds a little.
