Partnership in Marriage and Ministry

I don’t have the statistics, so take it on faith. One of the major reasons why church plants fall over is because of issues in the church planter’s marriage.

When we assess church planters we’re looking for couples that have a history of facing the issues in their relationship as they arise. We’re looking for clarity and agreement about their respective roles. Bobby Clinton has come up with five effective models of partnership in marriage and ministry.

For church planting couples, what is important is not their model of partnership in marriage and ministry, but whether they agree on what their model is and support each other in it.

Here’s a worksheet we have developed to help couples think through their model of partnership.

What about church planters that are single? Is there much research done into them? Or should i say, us?

Digger, thanks for the great question. I’ll post a response in the next few days in the main body of the blog.
