NCD Australia

Just arrived in Singapore. Wireless internet and it’s fast!

My good friends at NCD Austalia have just launched a new website.

Two more sleeps and I’m home.

From a cafe somewhere. . .

Greetings to everyone from ‘east Asia’. Flying out today for Singapore. Had one of those life changing trips. Looking forward to sharing the learning. God is good.

The famous five

When this posts automatically I should be still traveling in Asia in a “restricted access” region. Hope to be in Singapore with secure internet by the end of November.

Meanwhile, here’s a quick audio overview of the five characteristics of dynamic movements. Love to hear how people are finding the audio format.

Major Trends from Northern Europe

Just arrived from a fairly remote location somewhere in Asia. Back to semi-civilization. Coffee and an internet connection. What else do you need?

More about the trip later.

Here’s Manfred Rusner’s response to Howard Snyder’s Major Trends. Great to get a norther European perspective. Between Australia and Sweden we’ve got the whole world covered.

Introduction to movements

While I’m away here’s another mp3 to listen to. This one introducing the importance of movements.

Hearing from Howard

I’ve just heard from Howard Snyder that once people have had a chance to input, he’s willing to respond to the comments.

So start writing. . .

Ten Major Trends

Almost twenty years ago Howard Snyder wrote Foresight: Ten Major Trends Facing the Church. It’s uncanny how close he came to predicting future reality.

Here’s a list of the trends he predicted:
1. From regional churches to world Church.
2. From scattered growth to broad revival.
3. From Communist China to Christian China.
4. From institutional tradition to kingdom theology.
5. [...]

Undercover somewhere

Off to Asia today to an undisclosed destination. I’ll be visiting some friends who work in a restricted field. Away for two weeks.

We’ll see how we go with the blog. Limited internet access and security concerns may make it difficult.

I’ve set a few items that will post automatically. Anything more will be a bonus.

Done

The courtyard is finished. We celebrated with a BBQ for our local CRM team on the weekend.

Here’s my photophobic mentor in stone, Adrian Sinatt. I couldn’t have done it without you mate.

The last job was to hang my hammock. Prophetic.

Something from Seth

I enjoy reading Seth Godin’s blog.

Here’s a post with implications for understanding the lifecycle of a movement, a ministry, a business, a marriage, a church plant, you.
