Why don’t we see dynamic church planting movements in the West of the same magnitude that we are see in many parts of the developing world?

We are still firmly rooted in the notion of church as a “system”, with
pastors, buildings, budgets, and so forth. Therefore we have training for “system managers” (pastors), conferences for “system updates” (renewal) where we listen to the most successful “system experts”...

We have almost no examples of organic simple churches in the west. The few examples we have are not well-known and a number of them have not survived.

What already exists is seen as the right expression of the church. New
expressions, especially if they really are different and/or are seen as a threat or a criticism to existing expressions, are seen with suspicion…

    I would have thought that Neil Cole’s CMA is a well-known example that has survived.
