The true colours of modern (and postmodern) Christianity

Crucifix Narrowweb 300X402,2

Yet another article reminding us of the changing face of the global Christian movement: True colours of modern Christianity.

So why is the Emerging Church so preoccupied with the “first world”? How can that be “missional”?

Let’s be honest. Most people in the northern/western “first world” have no idea what life, much less the Church, is like in the rest of the planet. It is easy (and appropirate?) to criticize them for this narrow vision. However, in reality, aren’t we all pretty myopic? I know that I am so preoccupied by my context and circumstances, I only have time to glance at what is happening elsewhere.

I would also add that the ermerging church is not the same as the missional church. So, I suppose you could be one and not the other pretty easily.
