Driscoll challenges the Sydney Anglicans

In a Sydney cathedral packed with 800 clergy Mark Driscoll has served up some great advice to the Sydney evangelical Anglicans on evangelism, church planting and movements.
Surprisingly Mark, who is normally quite meek and mild, doesn’t pull his punches as he lays out five ways the diocese has gone off track.
Full credit to the Sydney Anglicans for inviting Mark’s input and the courage to publish. I wonder if there are any other Australian dioceses or denominations willing to do the same? I wonder what Mark would have said to them?
A key to ongoing renewal is to confront the brutal facts in the context of hope. There are other Australian denominations that are in the terminal phase of their decline and they don’t want to know about it. The Sydney diocese has a great future if it maintains a commitment to continually reinvent itself for the sake of the unchanging Gospel.
Students of movement dynamics will want to read Natasha Percy’s excellent summary of Mark Driscoll’s message.
Looking forward to Mark’s next visit downunder. When are you bringing him back?
